New York, NY  – This morning, New York City Councilman Peter Koo (District 20) paid a courtesy visit to the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center’s (CBWCHC) COVID-19 Vaccination Center in Flushing, Queens. CBWCHC Chief Executive Officer Kaushal Challa showed CM Koo around the facility and spoke with community members on the importance of vaccination – especially in Flushing, where high infection rates of the coronavirus (COVID-19) have been prevalent.

Challa thanked CM Koo and other elected officials who have continued to support the CBWCHC in expanding access to primary care and COVID-19 testing and vaccines, which are vital to the community’s recovery from this pandemic.

“The CBWCHC has been committed to the safety of staff and our community throughout this pandemic. We are proud to be at the forefront of providing COVID-19 testing and vaccinations in our community. Since December 2020, our Lower Manhattan and Flushing special vaccination sites have administered over 40,000 doses to eligible community members,” said Challa. “And we now provide free Pfizer (12 years+) and Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen (18 years+) COVID-19 vaccinations and encourage those who have not been vaccinated to give us a call at (718) 490-7165.”
